Our monthly Garden After Work will take place on Thursday, June 20th!

Chidi UKWU is the Creative Director of 2 Masks & a Griot Theatre Company, an avant-garde theatre working out of Abuja and interested in the development, in Nigeria, not just of the art but the business of theatre. His theatre know-how spans more than twenty years from managing programmes in community theatres and the Musical Society of Nigeria, to performing for and understudying Director Chuck Mike of the Performance Studio Workshop and Collective Artistes.

He has been focusing on new Nigerian writings and creations, deploying a mix of traditional forms and experimental new media in his theatrical works. He is a big believer in Abuja’s potential as an emerging world hub, and that is what he will be speaking about, for our next Garden After Work.

What is Garden After Work about?

Every third Thursday of the month, from 5PM to 7PM, the Institut’s garden opens its doors to creative people who want to meet up. The event aims to be a free platform for artists to discuss new creative projects. It is also a great opportunity for these professionals to exchange ideas, get feedbacks and find partners.
