“The People’s Algorithm”

As a critical response to the country’s troubling education and unemployment crisis, in 2014, Fadugba created the art installation, The People’s Algorithm. At the intersection between art, science and education, The People’s Algorithm is an interactive game where teachers, policy makers and students move along a monopoly-like board in an attempt to understand and solve education-related challenges. Built as a life-size game house, the structure occupies about 3-4 players and consists of two interactive components: Game participants follow the journey various education stakeholders in Nigeria. At various intervals, participants are presented with various political, economic, religious and social challenges at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education.
