FRENCH CONNEXION is a week-long program, organized by the Institut français du Nigéria, the Embassy of France in Nigeria and Alliance Française de Lagos – Mike Adenuga Centre, for Digital November / Novembre Numérique.

It will feature animated movies screenings, a monumental video-mapping, an immersive show, e-library activities, DJ sets, panel talk & workshops for professionals, etc.

✦ THURSDAY NOVEMBER 28, AT 7 PM ✦
Massive projection mapping on the frontage of the venue. The piece is the result of 3 weeks of experimentation, by 3 Nigerian artists, and tutored by Native MAQARI (with the support of Institut français du Nigéria). And also: opening of an interactive exhibition, screening of animated movies, DJ sets…

✦ FRIDAY NOVEMBER 29 AT 7 PM ✦
An evening dedicated to digital music with the screening of the documentary ‘French Waves’ about French electronic music and a fresh selection of local DJs… All day: registration to Culturethèque, the e-library of the INSTITUT FRANÇAIS, and interactive exhibition!

✦ SATURDAY NOVEMBER 30 AT 7 PM ✦
Digital Vaudou, an immersive dance show by the French studio XLR Project. Invoking dance and digital art, the show explores animism and ancestral traditions and offers the viewer a contemporary interpretation of voodoo ritual dances. RSVP only: culture.lagos@afnigeria.org

✦ SUNDAY DECEMBER 1, FROM 3 PM TO 7 PM ✦
Screening of animated movies (Best of 2019 Annecy Festival, for kids and for adults) and presentation of the animated and interactive content Anilingo, a series of cartoons dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Nigerian heritage.

All events are hosted at Alliance Française de Lagos, 9 Osborne Road (Ikoyi). The entire program is free but the capacity is limited: first come, first served! No parking on site, valet parking only.

Novembre Numérique is the international festival of digital cultures, organized by the Institut français (headquarters) and the French cultural network, on all five continents.
