On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the French Development Agency in Abuja is organizing a series of events.
On October 11th 2018, a roundtable will bring together scientists, politicians and the civil society around a study on Lake Chad. In the evening, a photo exhibition on the same theme will open for a week at Institut français.
On October 12th, a breakfast debate is scheduled with the students. “The Upcoming Generation” will speak about the “security, socio-economic and environmental issues” of the region.

Lake Chad exhibition

From October 11th to 19th – at the Institut français du Nigeria 

This exhibition, organised by the French Agency for Development (AFD), highlights, through the drawings of the geographer Christian Seignobos and the photographs of the reporter Pascal Maitre, a case study of the adaptation of various populations to a complex geography, in perpetual motion, located on the borders of several troubled areas, on the border between Chad, Niger, Nigeria and Cameroon.

FR : Cette exposition, organisée par l’Agence Française de Développement (AFD), met en lumière, à travers les dessins du géographe Christian Seignobos et les photographies du reporter Pascal Maitre, un cas d’école d’adaptation de populations diverses à une géographie complexe, en mouvement perpétuel, situé aux confins de plusieurs zones agitées, à la frontière entre le Tchad, le Niger, le Nigéria et le Cameroun.

Round Table on the North-East / Lake Chad

A round-table discussion on the conclusions and recommendations of the studies carried out by a multidisciplinary team of fifteen French, British, Cameroonian, Nigerien, Nigerian and Chadian researchers, on the insecurity linked to the insurgency of the Boko Haram in the North-East of Nigeria and the Lake Chad region.

Une table ronde sur les conclusions et recommandations des études menées par une équipe pluridisciplinaire d’une quinzaine de chercheurs français, britanniques, camerounais, nigériens, nigérians et tchadiens sur l’insécurité liée à l’insurrection de Boko Haram dans la région nord-est et du Lac Tchad.
